An important point, BIA, owns and manages the rail system from Blackwell to Wellington Kansas where both Burlington Northern Santa Fe and Union Pacific lines are available, approximately 31 miles. The state of Oklahoma owns a 13-mile portion of the line to the state border. The rails bridges need to be upgraded to bring them up to full load capacity, currently rated at 263,000 #– we hope to have this process started in 2020.
