Our community of Blackwell is a great place to Build, Grow and Thrive.

With a population of just over 6,000 (2020), we boast award winning schools, community garden, seven parks and softball/baseball complex. We have a vibrant and active tourism group and Oklahoma’s first Barn Quilt Trail with geocaching.

Located in north central Oklahoma, our hospital is a 53-bed hospital.
Blackwell offers acute inpatient services, outpatient services,
physical therapy, and respiratory therapy.

Blackwell–Tonkawa Municipal Airport covers an area of 209 acres (85 ha) at an elevation of 1,030 feet (314 m) above mean sea level. It has one runway designated 17/35 with an asphalt surface measuring 3,501 by 60 feet (1,067 x 18 meters).

The BIA and ODOT own rail property in Blackwell up through Kansas meeting the BNSF and UP rail lines. 

The Blackwell Northern Gateway Railroad (BNG) provides transloading opportunities thru US Rail Partners Logistic Services. Located centrally between Wichita, KS and Tulsa and Oklahoma City, OK, this location provides an ideal central distribution point for products destined for all three population centers.
